I own a small company and we are set up on MS Exchange Server 2010/Outlook 2010 hosted on Godaddy.com. We're being told we can't share contacts. (See below). Is this true?
This is a critical function we have to have. What am I missing? Could it be a setting change or is there a workaround to be able to have a master contact list accessible for our team members (all five are on our exchange network).??? Help!!???
"I spent a some time this weekend trying to get your Master Contacts list to show up as an address book, so that you can choose from them when clicking the “To:” button during email composition.
According to MS documentation: “By the current outlook design, it’s not possible to implement the shared contacts folder in the Outlook Address Book. The Outlook Address Book tab feature is ‘by design’ unavailable for shared contacts folders and this is hard-coded in the Outlook product”
Outlook has a "Global Address List" feature you may have seen when viewing Address Books. The list cannot be edited in Outlook, only through Godaddy’s administration page. (I added Fred Flintstone & Barney Rubble as sample addresses for testing). The list is limited to 1000 entries, and there is no bulk import or export; One at a time entry. Not a viable solution. I am currently reviewing several folder/contact sync applications. There is one called Dencom that look promising, I’ll keep you updated as I make progress"
