Outlook Re-Downloading RSS Feed Posts Days Later

Hi, I prefer using Outlook (2007) for RSS feed viewing and am subscribed to about a dozen RSS feeds. But I frequently find Outlook re-downloading feeds sometimes up to 5 days after the fact. I have even had Outlook download the same RSS feed every day for 4 days straight (even though I deleted the post and emptied the trash folder each time). I never get a *duplicate* feed. It's always a case of *RE*-downloading of posts. Is there anything I can do to stop this? Thank you!
 
I meant to say above: I never get duplicates downloaded *at the same time.* It's always one or more days later.
 
This usually happens because the publisher edited the post. (I'm guilty of this... very guilty.)

Go to Tools, Options, Other, Advanced - is rss configured to treat updates as new? (last item in the list of general settings)
 
Diane, Yes, that advanced setting *was* checked. Thank you for the information. I'll uncheck it and see if that changes things. :-)
