Downloading Outlook 2010 from Volume Licensing Centre problem

I found I could no longer open Outlook - I was getting a message to say the file didn't have a program associatd with it for opening. I thought I could solve this by downloading OUtlook again from the Volumn Licensing Center using download manager but I thn get a message saying the application wouldn't start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. I'm completely lost as to where I go from here - any ideas please?!
