can't save draft email in Outlook 2010

I can no longer save a draft in the drafts folder of Outlook 2010. Doing a ctrl/S or a FILE->SAVE worked fine last week, but no longer places anything in the Drafts folder which is full of past entries, some only a week old. once I "x" out the draft or shut down Outlook, my email is history. I'm about to restart a particular email for the 3rd time that has been lost in cyberspace.

I have not knowingly changed any settings to disable the saving of drafts and don't know if there is such a setting. I do run ccleaner often but don't know that has anything to do with this.

Solved. inadvertently sorted by date. how do you flag a post "solved"?
