Are any other colors messed up?

Are they messed up in both OWA and Outlook?

Is the dialog to assign colors also all purple?

All message category colors were changed to Purple

Yes, Both OWA and Outlook

No, I can change the categories to any color I want. I can create new categories and assign any color I want.

No Macros, Yes I am the only one affected. I have a lot more email categories than anyone else, and a huge mailbox - 30GB not counting the online archive - so that's probably the issue here.

For lack of a better idea I've restored the .edb from backup and will export the mailbox to .pst with kroll ontrack. I found this tool(Outlook Freeware - Export All Master Category Lists of Outlook 2007/2010/2013) today to export the categories once I import the mailbox onto a different account and, with my fingers crossed, it will carry over the color codes.

It could be due to the number of categories.

I've seen the colors appear and disappear due to a bug in an update, but they went from white to the correct color to white when restarting outlook. (That was in Outlook 2007, so it's definitely not your problem.)
