Odd behaviour for auto-receive

I have DESELECTED (unticked) the option Send and Receive (under Outlook Options/Advanced) so that email is NOT automatically sent/received (this is to make it work correctly with Mailwasher Pro).

This has worked fine for several years but all of a sudden, this week, whenever I start Outlook - whether from the desktop shortcut, start menu or invoked from within Mailwasher Pro - Outlook always automatically receives my emails. This I do NOT wish to happen!

I have tried uninstalling Mailwasher Pro in case that was the cause but the problem persists. I re-installed and configured Mailwasher Pro but that did not change how Outlook is handling email send/receive.

Any ideas of what may be happening and, more importantly , restore Outlook so that it correctly handles email - i.e. does NOT send/receive until I invoke the Send/Receive option from the Outlook toolbar?

Untick the setting, apply and reset it. That usually fixes problems where a setting is unchecked but not working.

Do you have any addins or applications installed that use outlook data? Something - either an addin or an outlook update - may have affected it.

An no, I have no other add-ins or apps that are associated with Outlook.
