Exchange 2007, Outlook 2007. Organizational Forms Library.

I've created a Leave Request Form. I've added several Cutom Actions such as Approve Leave, Deny Leave, and Add Leave To Your Claendar. These custom action forms are all published in the OFL.

It all works quite well, except when you choose the custom action, Add leave To Your Calendar. The Appointment form comes up and has all the info populated correctly, but when you click 'Save and Close' the form is saved in the Inbox and not the Calendar. You can then drag and drop to the Calendar folder. How can I get the Appointment to save directly to the Calendar.

A supervisor receives the Leave Request. He opens and selects Add Leave To Your Calendar. Clicks Save and Close. The message with message class IPM.Appointment.AddLeaveToCalendar is save in the Inbox.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Are you trying to add it to the person's calendar who requested leave or to the supervisors calendar?

What is the code behind the Add leave to calendar button? It sounds like its not pointing to the default calendar folder or is pointing to a folder the supervisor doesn't have permission to write to.

The Leave Request arrives in supervisor's Inbox as IPM.Note.LeaveRequest. There is a Custom Actions button on the menu bar with a dopdown that you can select 'Add leave To Your Calendar'. I added this action to the Actions tab of the Leave Request Form. It opens the Add Leave To Your Calendar custom appointment form form the OFL. It is populated with all the leave info of the requestor. The sup. clicks Save and Close and hopefully saves the requestors leave info to his own calendar. This way he has a record of all who are going to be absent and he will get reminders. Unfortunately, it saves right back in the Inbox.

I'm just using Outlook to design the forms. How can I see the code?

I can open the Add Leave To Your Calendar form directly from the OFL and it saves to my calendar just fine. It's only when you open the Leave Request from the Inbox and chose the Add Leave To Your Calendar form that it doesn't save to the Calendar.

From the Actions tab:

Characteristics of the new form:

When responding: Include orginal message text.

Address form like a: Reply.

Thanks for your help.

Tried to make the Custom Action open up a standard appointment form. This doesn't work either. When you save, it saves to the Inbox. Like I said, if you open the Add Leave To Your Calendar form directly from the Organizational Forms Library it saves to the calendar just fine. Not so, when opening from the Leave Request in the Inbox.

There must be some code I can add to make it save to the default calendar.

Thanks again.

Open the form in Forms designer and click the View code button to see the code behind.

This is the problem: IPM.Note.LeaveRequest - its a note, not a calendar event. The add to calendar code needs to generate the calendar event.

Sorry Diane, I'm not doing a very good job of describing the situation and this is my first venture into desinging a form.

I have made these forms with Outlook's form design function. When I click on View Code the Script Editor Page is always blank. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

The Leave Request form and Add Leave to Your Calendar form are two separate forms. The Add Leave To Your Calendar (IPM.Appointment.LeaveToCalendar) is published in the OFL and is opened from the Custom Actions dropdown in the Leave Request Form. When you save and close this form it is IPM.Appointment.LeaveToCalendar, but it saves back to the Inbox.

If you open the Add Leave To Your Calendar form directly from the Organizational Forms Library it saves correctly to your calendar. But, if you receive and open a Leave Request from your Inbox, then open the Add Leave To Your Calendar form from the Custom Actions dropdown on the Leave Request form and save it, it saves to the Inbox.

I hope I'm making sense.

Thank again.
