Make field searchable in custom form in outlook 2007

Is there a way to make the fields searchable in a custom form?

I have a custom form but when I perform a search nothing comes back even if I

search for exactly what the text in the field is.

It has been a long time, but I think you have to define the field in the folder

to have it searchable.
