Outlook.exe expands to 1.4 mb and causes eratic computer behavior

Outlook 2010 32bit

4 gig HP Laptop

At start, taskmanager shows outlook.exe at approx 170,000 K

During the day, or over a period of two days the outlook.exe file expands to 1.4 + mb.

Computer begins to slow, Outlook messages distorted, other font and program errors, computer freezing.

Restart Outlook. Outlook.exe is slimmed down. Everything runs ok.

This has repeated over approx 6 months.

Just found this forum. Searched it. Did not find this to be a common issue. (No BCM)

Appreciate any ideas????

PS: High volume of emails, lots of RSS feeds.

The expanding memory alone is not a big deal - oulook will take all the available memory but its supposed to release it when something else needs it. It also should not drag down the computer.

What addins do you have installed?

Does it work as expected in safe mode? (Close Outlook. Hold Ctrl as you click on the Outlook icon to start in Safe mode.)

Do yo sync with any devices or access outlook data in other programs?
