Contact Field Data not showing in Journal Entry List

I have customized the Journal Entry List view by using the Field Chooser. (adding phone #, email address, etc.). Only the contact name and company show in the list. Any suggestions?
 
They broke journal features in Outlook 2010 and decimated the journal in Outlook 2013. I'll see if can repro and figure out what is wrong.

Also, make sure you have all of the updates for Outlook - an update fixed the Journal activities problem. I don't know which one - but it could also fix the problem you are having now. If Activities shows Journal items, then you have the updates.

Activities does not show journal entries. How do I update outlook? I went to <help> <check for updates> but there are no office or outlook updates available. Would it be an optional Windows update?
