delete journal folder

I am new to outlook and I would like to remove the following folders from the inbox of outlook 2010:-journal/notes and calendar, they take up too much room- but can't find a way to do this
Any help would be appreciated
 
Unfortunately, they can't be deleted (well they can be deleted using MFCMAPI, but outlook will recreate them). If you use the Mail navigation module instead of the folder list, you won't see them.
