Customization for BCM

I am not able to customize my fields in BCM for Outlook 2013. It's not an active option on the ribbon. I can see it, but cannot click on it. When I go to File--Business Contact Manager--Customize, Customize Record Types is also not active. I've tried customizing an existing contact AND a new contact. Any suggestions as to why I'm not able to customize?
