BCM 2013 with SQL Express 2014

I have to use SQL Express 2014 in my laptop and I also need to use BCM 2013.

Is there any way to make BCM work with SQL 2014?

I would really prefer not to have to install both, SQL Express 2008 and SQL Express 2014.

Some of it works, but I cannot make it create an offline copy of the shared DB (among other things).

Your help is greatly appreciated.

BCM should detect SQL is installed - but if it won't work with the newest SQL, you'll need to install the older version.

Are you using the Nov 2014 BCM update? I'm not sure it will matter, but that is the newest build.

Sorry it took so long to reply,

I was able to install BCM 2013 with SQL Express 2014.

All I had to do was to pre-install SQL Express 2014 with an Instance named MSSMLBIZ and make it to logon as "LocalSystem" using SQL Server Configuration Manager.

I can now have a local DB and also connect to the remote Shared DB and create an offline copy.

I am using BCM 4.00.12929.00.
Is this the Nov 2014 Update?

In case you've missed the news, don't upgrade to office 2016, BCM is NOT supported in.

I saw your thread regarding Office 2016; very sad.
Are there any good (not expensive) alternatives?
