I have been trying Companionlink again, and after finding appointments entered on my Windows Phone not syncing to desktop decided to try using Onedrive only for calendar syncing. Also the Windows phone calendar is nicer to use than Companionlink's Dejaoffice calendar.
(I have tried using Onedrive for syncing contacts between desktop and phone. Not being able to sync categories, and having to set up groups instead was one reason for not using it. But more knowing that I would have to go to Onedrive to assign/change "groups" and that I have Outlook distribution lists with 200 members that don't make it into Onedrive and would require adding each person in list as a new contact and assigning to a group. I don't see any way to keep distribution lists without cluttering my contact list)
Is there a way to make the Onedrive calendar the default calendar in Outlook, such that contacts in Outlook Legacy Contacts folder would have birthdays, etc entered there, rather than in legacy calendar?
Also, I have had Outlook start using the "Outlook" folder, showing all calendar, tasks and messages. After setting Onedrive Outlook as default data file this setting opens to the empty Onedrive contacts folder. How can I bring back the original "Outlook" folder page using items from the Onedrive calendar? I don't care about the tasks and messages.
Aside from these two issues I haven't seen any reason not to use Onedrive only for syncing calendar between Outlook and Windows phone. Is there some other reason that I wouldn't want to do this?
