Hello
I'm hoping someone can unravel this for me...
The current situation.
I've had a domain name with mailboxes and server for a long time. There is an email address for me myfirstname@domainname.co.uk and my wife herfirstname@domainname.co.uk
We both also have outlook accounts which are set up to receive from the email names above and to send appearing to come from those names.
It took a bit of working out but it all works fine now across our PC, Surface and Mobile devices. Great.
There is an anomaly which concerns me for what I want to do next. My wife set her Outlook.com name to the same as the name above: herfirstname@domainname.co.uk I didn't know this was possible but it seems to work fine. I mean that is her actual Outlook email address - she doesn't have one that ends in outlook.com
Here's what I want to do:
I want to cancel my webhosting and just keep the domain name and email addresses (to save money since I get little use from my website). I would then point the email addresses to our Outlook.com addresses so that Outlook.com would be our only email server BUT this would mean that in her case I'd be pointing herfirstname@domainname.co.uk to herfirstname@domainname.co.uk ! You can perhaps see why I fear problems...
Have we got ourselves into an awful mess? Does anyone have any wisdom? It would be appreciated.
Thank you for reading this dark tale.
