Please excuse me if this has already been covered somewhere,

I am trying to help my friend set up Outlook365 to run his small plumbing business, but I have been unable to link an existing customer’s contact details with an appointment. What I understand would be ideal for him, is from the appointments page to be able to search his contacts, drag or press a button and it would drop all the details into the notes section. Or is there a better way of doing it, (from contact’s page?) to save keep copying pasting etc? and without retyping or keep moving windows around.

Contact linking and Activities are gone from Outlook, and have been for a few versions. But you can set a registry key to show the contact field.

Outlook 2016, 2019, 365 user key

Outlook's Contact Linking feature can be enabled in Outlook 2013 by editing the registry.
