I nee dto verify some things about how OL Appointments work because what my IT people are telling me doesn't align with how I though OL works nor does it make sense then again MS has done some questionable things before so who knows.

If I set an appoint at 1PM (my time) and in the REMINDER field I set it to 1 hour then I expect at 12PM my time I will get the first popup saying the appointment and on the far right 1 hour meaning teh appt id to begin in 1 hour. If I then select 10 minutes before start in the SNOOZE section I would expect the pop-up to not come up again until 12:50PM and the pop-up will show 10 Minutes on teh far right as that's how long before the appointment starts.

Is the above correct and if no can someone explain to me where I'm wrong? I ask because my IT guys' are saying that with this appointment I will at 11AM get a pop-up showing the appointment with 1 hour on the right. They also say if I use the SNOOZE feature it will change what is shown when the reminder pop-up next occurs. That doesn't make sense to me and if I've been wrong about how OL Reminders for appointments work then I can't believe I am only just today noticing it when I've been using OL for close to 30 years.

Any feedback is appreciated

This is the correct behavior.

Is that how it is working for you, or are you getting the reminder an hour early (at 11) ? If you are getting reminders at goofy times, restart Outlook using the /cleanreminders switch.

Close Outlook. Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog. Type or paste the following into the Open field and press Enter or click OK to restart Outlook. (There is a space before /)
outlook.exe /cleanreminders

This switch is safe to use, it just clears and rebuilds the hidden reminders folders.

Yes OL was not behaving the way I described and my IT guys we're telling me it was because it didn't work they way I thought and while I would not pretend to know how networking works (being that's their job), unfortunately at least 1 in our IT Dept seems to believe he knows more than he really does about things outside of what he handles. I cosmically just wanted to verify my understanding was correct because if it had changed I would not be surprised.

I think You're right about just doing a restart. I do have a 20 year old outlook file. I've actively worked to remove attachments to keep the over all size down and I even try clean up where I keep only the last reply in a multi-reply email chain but even with all that it's still a fairly old OL file.

Thanks Diane
