I've got a friend who uses Gmail and has 10,000 emails in her Inbox, all organized using Labels and Categories. It is her record of 10 years of managing a girls' volleyball club. I want to back them up for her. I was thinking of using Outlook. But is there anyway that her Labels and Categories could somehow be changed to folders or some other organization, automatically when set up?

Or is there a better way to back up Gmail?

If you sync them to Outlook classic, the labels will sync as folders. Then you can export to a PST.

Or use google takeout to create a backup - I have not tried this.
