Jolly characters in Outlook 2007 searching

How can I use jolly characters (if it's possible) in quick search in Outlook 2007?

(For example, I wish to find all the messages which contains words starting or ending or containing a string, as in Windows I can find all the files containing "my-string" searching "*my-string*.*")

Is there a list of all the jolly characters available in Outlook 2007 / 2010?

Jolly characters? Never heard that term before. :) It looks like you mean wildcards. Current versions of Outlook don't support wildcards. It can find words beginning with "my" (using your example), but won't find "my" in the middle of a word.
 
Thanks a lot! I did need a confirmation about what I supposed.

But what a pity! In previous versions this feature was avalilable (why remove it?).

Sorry for "jolly chars" word: this is italian term for wildcards and, in a hurry, I translate it "brutally"...

No apologies needed re jolly chars. Now I know what is meant if I hear it again. :)

It was removed because they changed search engines. The trade off was fast search but from the beginning of the word only. (The old search wasn't a true wild card, it just checked each letter).
