importing email address list from excel

Hi there,

Right, I'm keen to import my mailing list of 2700 or so into Outlook and operate the monthly newsletters etc from there. Mailing list is in an Excel/csv format.

Two questions -

1) How to import this list? Trying the import function through outlook.com / contact / import brings up a pop-up box, I select my csv file of email addresses, but get the error message "you must provide a value for this property"

2) If I am able to import this list, can I import directly into a group or separate contact list? (I don't fancy having to select my 2700 mailing list members out of the 'all contacts' list)

Any advice much appreciate.

How it is possible to import email address list from excel. I also want to import that. My email list become very large.
 
The easiest way to import contacts is to export the contacts folder from Outlook to get the field names - make sure the name match the correct columns then import into Outlook.

However - since you want a Contact Group, you can open the CSV in Excel, copy the address column and paste it into the members field of a Group Contact. Create a Contact Group to quickly send email to a multiple people - Slipstick Systems

Alternately, and somewhat easier to manage is to import the addresses as contacts and assign a category (add the category in excel before importing). Use a group by category view and select the category group to send them email.
