3 months of archived e-mail is missing

I archive all of my e-mails every 30-60 days in .pst folders, since I have a size limit on my inbox. Last week, I noticed that I am missing e-mails from January to March 2019 in my archive folders. The only folder that is NOT missing e-mails is my send/receive notifications pst. I have tried the scanpst.exe on one folder and it found/fixed errors after running it several times, but I still don't have the missing e-mails. I have e-mails from before and after those dates. Can I retrieve the missing e-mails? The whole point of using archive folders is so that I can save e-mails. Help!
