Email notifications changed with Outlook 2021

With Outlook 2010 which I had been using since 2010 when I got an email I would see the gray banner come up by the taskbar and then it would fade away and just be in my iinbox. Now with Outlook 2021 I get a square blue notification and then it goes into the notifications and actions center which I hate does anyone know how I can stop it from going in there. I'd rather just see the banner and then have it be in my inbox. I is in my inbox but also in the action center. see the image below.

I suppose if you open Settings, you can turn Outlook off under System - Notifications. I don't know if the old banner/alert is still around, though. The envelope icon in the system tray is. But both the envelope icon and the new notifications are not very much in sync with the actual state of new emails (the icon remains if you read the email on another device or if you delete without opening; and the notifications also remain untouched in some cases).

I don't want to turn off the new email banner ( which is the notification ) I just don't want it going into the notification and action center. If I see the banner and let it go it used to just be a unread email in my inbox now it is that but also is in to notification and action center. so the taskbar icon is filled with white to show something is in there and I am always checking it only to find out it is an email I already know I got. Just would like to to work like my Outlook 2010 did. I am using Outlook 2021 now

Turn it off in Windows Settings > Notifications & Actions - Under Get notifications from these sender, click on outlook and change the settings.

This is from a test machine so it has the defaults - I uncheck notification in the action center, banners, and play sound. I have the envelope icon option (in outlook's options) because it is not so 'in my face'.

Thanks Diane,
I looked there but thought all I could do was unable notifications for Outlook, I never thought to click on Outlook to see if there were more options. That taught me a lot about Windows 10 from now on I won't look at a slider and think that is a either on or off I will always clcik on it to see if there are more options..

One other thing I want to do is move the unread/read button closer to the delete button or visa versa. Since I use them together. I clcick read and then delete on any mail that I know is spam or something I shouldn't open. I didn't start another thread since you might look at this reply, sorry if that is cheating :)
