Outlook 365 (OutLook For Mac)Move "On My Computer" Folder Items From Old To New Mac Computer

I am moving from an old Intel Silicon Mac Computer to a new Apple Silicon Mac Computer. Both computers are running macOS Sonoma 14.0 and Microsoft OutLook For Mac 16.78 (Office 365 subscription) and I am using the OLD OutLook, not the NEW OutLook appearance.

I have just two IMAP accounts from Comcast and Me.com, and have already set those up in OutLook on the new computer no problem there. But, on my old computer, I made an Archive back in August, 2020 (with items back to 1998), which is located in the "On My Computer" folders on the old computer--and I need to move that to the new computer. Also...however I am able to move it, I need to import the items only into the "On My Computer" folders on the new computer--not into either of the IMAP accounts folders.

At first, I thought I could just archive that set of folders, then move the PST or OLM file over to new computer and import it...but...doesn't appear to be a way in OutLook to archive JUST that set of folders, looks like it only archives EVERYTHING in OutLook? Also, I understand that, unlike OutLook on Windows, there's not just an OST file that I could just move...but a whole bunch of folders and subfolders that aren't really easy to determine which is what and where.

So...is there some way to do this (what should be an easy task), or is there an app that will do this, or a way to find all the dozens of folders and subfolders belonging to just "On My Computer" and just copy them over or something.

Prior to posting, I did read the help, and search on Google, but it seems the Microsoft Help for OutLook For Mac is just a poorly-edited version of the OutLook For Windows Help, with pictures of Windows versions and nothing pertinent to the Mac version. And Google was pretty much just as bad.

Thanks!!!!

You need to export to an OLM file then move the OLM. How many folders do you have in the On My Computer folders? You can categorize everything then export the category.

But... the exported OLM should be organized by folder, with the folders in the two accounts under folders with the account name - so exporting everything then importing it and deleting the folders might be easiest if you have a lot of folders.

Thanks, Diane!

I only have the two folders: Inbox (19,563 items) and Sent (10,839 items) that are in the Old Computer's "On My Computer" folders, that I need to move to the New Computer's "On My Computer" folders--the other folders are empty. Also, I seem to have just the one set of folders from my Comcast mail account, and nothing from my Me.com mail account.

Soooo...I want to categorize all emails in both folders with a fake category I made up (I guess same category for each, or different for each of the two folders?), then export each folder separately (or, will it export the entire "On My Computer" folder hierarchy?). Then, once I have the exported OLM files, I copy them to the new computer, then import them into OutLook (and I assume they'll go into the right folders, or will I have to use the two different category export and then import each OLM file into its appropriate folder?

When you export - you'll choose the category - it's been a while since I exported categories, I think it will create only the folders that have messages in the category. But even if it exports all folders, they will be easy to delete.

Doing two exports is pointless - the export process doesn't work on the selected for like windows Outlook does. :)
