Mail read in OWA won't appear in Outlook

I am new to Outlook and OWA and I'm having all kinds of issues. I have begun using Outlook for a work account from home, and sometimes need access to it from other computers, so I've tried using OWA.

If I read an email in Outlook it doesn't show up in OWA and vice-versa (for the most part) although sometimes it does. Also, no emails stay in OWA. Once they are read and it's closed, if I go back in the emails are not there.

I'm quite confused. I want full access to my emails in OWA, but more importantly I want anything I read or write from their to appear in Outlook when I need to access it later.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
 
Does Outlook have the account configured for Exchange or POP3? The symptoms sound a lot like POP3 and outlook is removing the mail from the server. If you configure the exchange account as an exchange account mail will be left on the server and readable in OWA. Sent items will be synced up and calendar and contacts will be available in both outlook and owa.




To change the setup, create an exchange account in outlook, remove the POP account (but not the pop3's data file) then drag mail from the folders the pop 3 account used to the exchange mailbox. Remove the pst when done.




A less desirable solution is to keep using POP3 and leave mail on the server. Go to tools, account settings, double click on the account then More Settings, Advanced tab.
