Yes, I did sync my Outlook with my smart phone. But at least some of these reminders were wrong. For example, my brother's birthday is in August; I have that in Outlook and in my contact information in Hotmail/Live. But I still got a reminder about his birthday at the beginning of the year, which makes no sense at all.

I didn't check the others that I got reminders of; some of them I undoubtedly don't have any information on, as they are business associates and I don't have any idea what their birthdays are.

Perhaps I should ask this question in some other forum, but where?

I'm sorry, Brian, but I don't know how to get to the Recurring Appointments view in Outlook 2010. How do I do that?

Just one thought, if you recently "Sync'd" Outlook with another device, its

it just a coincidence that the reminders came up on 1 January. Just because

that was the day when you saw these alerts may not mean that they were

scheduled for then.

I have found that some synch sessions can revive reminders that have long

since expired. One of the sources of the reminder has written over the

Outlook one.

So, the reminder for your brother's birthday may be last year's that has

come back to life. You saw it because you started Outlook again on 1

January and assumed that that was when the reminder was scheduled to hit

you.

This is just a guess on my part based on earlier experiences with

synchronising different systems. If the reminders really are there for 1

January every year, and there are new ones for 2013, then my theory is

nonsense.

Rod,

One way of getting the Recurring is to

go to calendar

click view on the menu bar

click Change view on the left on the ribbon

choose List

There are little arrows at the top of each Recurrences

click the arrows to collapse or expand each of the Recurrences.

there are different Recurrences such as None, Weekly, Monthly and yearly. This will give you a list of those specific Recurrence levels.

Hope that is how it is done. If there is a better way let me know.

Jim Wagner
