how to change the Folder icon in Contact

how to change the Folder Icon in "Contact" to look like folders instead of vCard icon?:confused:
 
If the folder icons are wrong in the folder list, you need to use the /resetnavpane switch.

Close Outlook. Using the Start menu, Run command (Windows key + R), type

outlook.exe /resetnavpane

Then press Enter (or OK button) to restart Outlook.

Note: Make sure there is a space between the words.

I have done what you suggested Di but no affect. It is only the "Contacts" that the folders icon are Vcards icons all other areas in Outlook that I use, folder are displayed as folder icons.
 
hmm. It sounds like maybe they are the right icons. These are what the folder icons look like in Outlook 2010:

Diane the problem is not with folderlist sections but within the Contact section only, if you create a new folder in that section the icon is a "vcard" and not a "folder" icon as you would see when you create new folders in the other sections such as Sent Items. I will try and send a picture of this as an attachment.

That is the correct icon for the contacts (since at least 2003) and I know of no (easy) way to change it to a folder icon. Sorry.

This screen shot shows the Contacts folder icon in Outlook 2010, 2007, 2003. It's always a Contact icon.

Ok Thanks, just a note, I have changed it in outlook 2007 but cannot remember how I did it. If any else have done this, I would greatly appreciate if they could post the solution, if not for 2010, for 2007. Maybe I can make the solution work for 2010.
 
I have no idea how you changed it - its not an easy task. I don't recall any add-ins that allow this, but that would be the only way for a non-developer to do it.
