How change Contacts to using several letters?

Outlook 2010 64 bit

Exchange Server
In my old Outlook I could type, say, 3 letters and only one contact (or a very small group with those letters in common) would appear. Now, on Outlook 2010, a large # of contacts appear with any fragment of those letters as well as the notes section underneath a Contact. This makes searching basically unusable. Anyone know how to change that setting??
