I had an Outlook.com account set up as an Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) account in Outlook 2013.
This afternoon I decided to set up 2-step verification on my Outlook.com account.
As directed I generated an App password to use in Outlook 2013, and entered this into the Password box in Outlook 2013 Account Settings. After clicking OK, I received the following message in Outlook 2013:
“Congratulations! All tests successfully completed”.
I then returned to the Outlook 2013 email view.
However, at the bottom of the Outlook 2013 screen I have the following two messages alternating repeatedly:
“ WAITING FOR SERVER RESPONSE… CONNECTED” and
“ALL FOLDERS ARE UP TO DATE… CONNECTED”
It appears the account is permanently trying to connect to the server.
I closed Outlook 2013, and when I reopened it I briefly get the message:
“THIS FOLDER WAS LAST UPDATED AT 15:59” (that was the time just before I set up the 2-step verification about 3 hours ago).
So far I have closed all applications and restarted the PC.
Subsequently I have disabled 2-step authentication on my Outlook.com account, gone back to using my Account Password vs. the App Password for Outlook 2013, but am still having the same issues (Waiting for the Server Response message, etc).
Any ideas how I can resolve this connection issue? Thank you.
