Hi,
I have been using the Social connector every since I bought Office 2013 and love the way you get updates for Facebook and LinkedIn underneath the message pane or underneath contacts.
However recently, I have noticed that I don't get any LinkedIn updates any more. I tested this by actually going to the web version of LinkedIn and seeing which of my contacts was actually doing stuff in LinkedIn, and then checking under the contact whether I could see the update. Alas no. Facebook working fine, but LinkedIn not.
I then noticed on the web that LinkedIn were starting to refuse API access to some third party tools, but it appears Microsoft is off the hook as they are still a preferred partner.
Looking for a solution I came across LinkedIn's page itself: https://www.linkedin.com/static?key=microsoft_outlook. This seems to install a social connector of its own, but I can't work out whether or not I should install it. In fact after trying the first time, it now permanently gives me an error.
So what should I do? Possibly completely remove the social connector and try re-installing? Is anyone else able to get LinkedIn updates under the contact pane?
Thanks,
Phil
