Authentication error login rejects

I have an authentication error.....

""Task 'mail.talktalk.net - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server responded: ERR [AUTH] invalid user or password'""

...even though I have had the same account, and same login details for 20 years +. The same account was working fine on PC's, my tablet, and 2 mobile phones, until the last 'send/receive' on April 30th., but now it rejects my login.

I have checked my login details in my account settings, and has a test click which completes without error.

Any ideas please.
