Message Class keeps changing back to IPM.Contact

Hi - I use a custom contact form in Outlook 2007 and successfully use a short VB script to change the message class to IPM.Contact.customform and more recently I use Doc Message Class which is even easier.

It has worked for years without problem but now my contacts keep changing back to the IPM.Contact form on their own without doing anything with the contacts. It used to be a few contacts every now and then but now its about half of all of my contacts everyday, and some within a few minutes. I now have to run Doc Message Class everyday. (I do have the default set to When posting to this folder use.....mycontactform).

I'm pretty sure the problem started when I moved from POP3 to Google Apps and Google Sync through an IT Company (industry regulations required the change for encryption) but even if it is this problem I can't work out how to rectify it and don't understand why it has got so much worse in the last few weeks. My account says Google Apps - type 'MAPI'. The IT company wont help with Custom Forms.

Any ideas please?

I'm guessing its because the sync is configured for a default contact form - if you have your form set as default and it's getting changed to outlook's default, it's using the 'real' default form.

Are you editing the contacts outside of outlook? if so, when changes sync, it's using the form it accepts as the default.

I have several macros at Assign a custom form to existing Outlook items - you have at least 2 options - use a macro that checks / sets the message class when you select or open a contact, run a macro every so often (can do this using a reminder) to check /set the message class.

Thanks for your reply. Yes outlook seems to be reverting back to the 'real' default form. And, no I don't edit my contacts outside of outlook however they are sync'd to my iphone as too are my emails - so they are regularly being sync'd. Reference your solution, I'm using DocMessageClass.exe already which works fine so I have a solution but its not ideal.

However, you've reminded me to point out I no longer have an Organizational Forms Library since moving to Google Apps and Google Sync. I only have a Personal Forms Library which is the only place I can publish my form whereas previously on pop3 I would publish to both libraries.

I asked the IT company if I'm on Exchange and can they re-create an Organizational form library for me but they said no we can't as you are on Google Apps. I can't find anything on the internet to confirm or question this point. Perhaps this is the culprit, any ideas?
