Outlook 2010 'cannot send on behalf of' when changing calendar apointment

We have a customer with Office 2010 who is a heavy user of calendar appointments.

Since changing the DC up to an SBS2008 server (from SBS2003) he had had issues changing some appointments where he gets an undeliverable message returned saying he cant send on behalf of an external user (ie. someone outside the organisation).
We have not seen this before on ealier versions of office??
We did a simple test ourselves internally on our network and got a similar result with an internal user.
