Bit strange this, for around 6 months I have been downloading my emails from btinternet.com from my primary and 2 sub accounts without problems. Recently I noted that one of my sub accounts was not being downloaded, I use MailWasher Pro to download the headers only so I can delete anything I don't like before downloading the email. MW Pro was showing the headers for all accounts so I know that my settings - user name and password - are okay.
I have made no changes within OL 2010 so do not understand why this sub account is unable to be accessed by OL2010. I have re-entered the right details, I have deleted the account in OL2010 and re-entered the settings but there is still the problem.
On adding a new account I get a failed error:
Establish Network Connection - Ticked green.
Search for AJ******@btinternet.com servers settings - Ticked green.
Log on to server and send test email message - Red cross error.
I see a small screen box with my user name and password *********** I have deleted the *********** and re-entered the correct password, still no luck and the same screen re-appears!
I cannot see a way to edit the account within BTinternet only a 'delete' button, however I cannot just delete it and enter it again as a new account as I will not be able to use the same email name again, so I either find a way to fix it or have to advise all my contacts who use this account that I have changed it! A long and messy job.
Any suggestions as to what may have gone wrong and how fix it would be appreciated!!
