What can I do to mark emails as read (or at least unbold so they are not "new") when reading them with navigation pane instead of having to double click and open each new message? Thanks!

You can use Ctrl+Q to mark as read or change your settings for the reading pane - or change the reading pane setting to mark as read after xx seconds. My own preference is to use Ctrl+Q so that i have total control over which messages are marked read.

You can also right click on the message in the message list and choose Mark as Read.

to change the reading pane options in Outlook 2007, go to tools, options, other, reading pane.
