OL24 Calendar folder pane too narrow

When opening the calendar, my default view is "week" . Left of that, is the folder pane with showing 2 months list of optional calendars underneath. The problem is the default width of that pane: it's just not quite wide enough to show the entire week within that overview month. ">" to show next month is cut off due to lack of width.

I tried unpinning the pane, adjusting the width and pinning it again, but the next time I open the calendar, it goes back to the initial width. I've tried creating a a new view with the wider width. But every time I open calendar, it defaults back to the view that's just ever so slightly too narrow to show a useful month.

Web search showed this "answers". microsoft thread wherein the responding 'moderator' indicated that it is a Outlook flaw with no way to correct it. Suggested complaining to microsoft support.

Really? Will this be another item causing regret about moving to Office 2024?
 
I'll test itt in office 2024 - but as far as I know, the flaw on the left calendar is that it only shows one column - you can adjust the height to see more months, if the screen is tall enough. But it will only show one column.

Hover over the left edge of the calendar and click and drag slowly to the right. If it gives you problems and snaps back try either dragging as far right as it will go and release the mouse then drag it slowly back to the left.

right, the problem is not that the left edge can't be dragged to the right. It can. Though it has to be done twice. the first attempt does nothing. The problem is that outlook doesn't remember the change. when opened next time, it is again too narrow. The problem is about having to re-adjust something that is badly set, every time it is opened.

like it's default is to hide one day of the week, and left arrow, and the default can't be changed.
 
No. moving the left pane in Mail module reverts back to previous position when Ol is reopened. Also, widening the left pane in Mail isn't affecting the left pane in Calendar.
 
I can repro the behavior - but it is sticking once it changes to a setting it likes. Depending on how wide I start in Step 1, step 2 is either wider or narrower and a couple of times, it changed a little more when I went back to the calendar. In one case - the B in December was under the W in the Work Week view button and on the next switch to mail and back, was under the W in Week. That size stuck.

There is some weirdness in adjustuing the width - its in all 16.0 versions - for example if you drag the pane to make it wider, it might jump back to narrow. Or drag a little and it jumps wider. Or, it won't move at all. you pretty much need to move the bar the width of one thumb calendar - less and it won't move, more and it doesn't go quite a wide.

Have you tried repairing office? That would be my first step - quick repair should work.

The install is less than a month old. Though that wouldn't mean is doesn't need a repair, I guess.

Based on what you said, I tried dragging the divider about 1/3 across the screen. (again the first time dragging does nothing. It always requires 2 attempts). reopening Ol the divider moved back to the left, but not to where it started. So now, it is properly places. I reopened a couple of times and it remained in same (correct) place.

but today is tuesday. i'll see what happens on wednesday.
 
opened outlook today. calendar is still ok, with all days showing in left pane. So, apparently, dragging further than wanted to the key to getting the border to where it is supposed to be.

thanks for putting me on the path.
