iPhone Calendar will not sync with Outlook 2013

The situation: Running Windows 8.1 with MS Office 2013, including Outlook. My iPhone is running the latest software version, 7.0.4. I am trying to sync calendar, mail, contacts, notes to the laptop using the Apple UBS. The laptop is linking to my gmail account with IMAP and working correctly.

Everything syncs successfully to/from the iPhone/laptop except Calendar. I can not get the Outlook Calendar (which contains nothing since it is a new PC and software) to “merge” with the multi-year calendar on the iPhone and in effect transfer over the iPhone calendar.

The same phone is syncing successfully with an EP laptop running office 2003, including Calendar.

Any thoughts about a solution to this would be appreciated.
