I'm using Microsoft Outlook 2010 64-bit.

I have 1 main agenda that is divided in 2 agenda's: Private and Work.

When I look at my Task bar it only shows my Private appointments and not my Work appointments.

I looked at the different options on the Task bar and I think I have all the correct settings.

I have all the options marked (see Screenshot).

Is what I want not possible or am I missing something?

The To-Do bar should show all tasks as long as they are in a data file that is enabled for reminders. If both tasks are in the same data file you should see both. If they are in separate data files and mail is being delivered to a data file, tasks should be enabled. See http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/reminders-archives-pst-files/ for more information and screenshots.

Oh, one thing you might want to try is resetting the view on the To-do Bar. Right click on the field names at the top of the task list and choose View settings then Reset.

I tried what you said but it doesn't change anything for me. Maybe I can explain by showing this screenshot that I edited.
You can see on the left that I have 1 Main agenda, divided in 2 agenda's (blue / 1 = private and red / 2 = work). As you can see on friday the 21st I have 1 appointment in my private (blue / 1 ) agenda and 1 appointment in my work (red / 2) agenda. But in the taskbar on the right it only shows my appointment from my private (blue / 1) agenda and not my work (red / 2?) appointment. Am i doing something wrong or is this just not possible?

Ah. Yes, the screenshot helped. That is correct behavior for Calendars. The calendar in the to-do bar only shows appointments from the Default calendar, not from all Calendars in the profile.

Hello all, I'm hoping you can help me with a task list/to do bar issue. This is for Outlook 2010 32-bit running on Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit. Here is the issue:

One user can no longer manually create new tasks from scratch, see existing tasks, or create tasks from emails. When I click on the to do bar area and it opens the Task Tools/Task List menu on the ribbon, everything is grayed out. A scrolling orange bar appears in the task list and just scrolls and scrolls for days and weeks with no end, and none of the tasks will ever display. I can click on an email and it will put the flag next to the email, but it will never put it in the to do bar.

Here is what I've tried to fix it:

Repaired Office and Outlook specifically
Uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook
Deleted the .ost file and recreated it
Deleted and recreated the Outlook profile
Created a new Windows 7 profile
Ran sfc /scannow
Ran outlook.exe /resettodobar
Ran outlook.exe /cleanviews

The only way I can get it to work is to put the user in cached mode. As soon as I take her out of cached mode and put her back online, the same problem occurs. I have also tried logging in as this user to a completely different freshly imaged computer, and the same thing happens, so I have to believe it's an exchange account issue at the server/mailbox level. I would leave her in cached mode, but her mailbox is 23GB in size, so she experiences major performance issues while in cached mode which makes working and searching in Outlook almost impossible.

I've searched the web for days, but haven't been able to find a fix. If anyone can get me a fix, you would be my hero!

Does the task module (Ctrl+ 4) work as expected? Did you run cleanviews and resettodobar in both cached and online mode (or remove the ost then run the switch, so a new ost is created with the default views.)

I'll try an repro it, but it might be related ot the large amount of data.

Hi Diane, No, the Ctrl+4 doesn't do anything either, the task will never show up in the task list while in online mode.

Here is what I've tried to fix it:
Repaired Office and Outlook specifically
Uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook
Deleted the .ost file and recreated it
Deleted and recreated the Outlook profile
Created a new Windows 7 profile
Ran sfc /scannow
Ran outlook.exe /resettodobar
Ran outlook.exe /cleanviews

The only way I can get it to work is to put the user in cached mode. As soon as I take her out of cached mode and put her back online, the same problem occurs. I wasn't able to repro it - it is most likely at the server level and the fix may be to delete and recreate the account. But that is a PITA, especially with huge mailboxes. :(
