Hi,

I am looking to execute a Addin before sending messages in outlook. ( A MAPILAB addin). is it possible to call the addin before .Send command in VBA code and replace the default send button in outlook?

looking for guidance here.

Hi Diane,

Thanks for the reply. I am looking to execute MAPILab extension Email follow up so that a follow up is set for each and every email that I send. ( bypassing the manual way to click on addin tab and clicking follow up ). So the idea was to execute the follow up function of that addin just before Send command.

BTW, your site is an excellent resource for anything related to outlook and I have used it many times. Thanks for such a great site.

If you are adding the same follow up to all messages, you can use an itemadd macro - watch the sent folder and add the follow up flag to messages that are added to the folder. I have a code sample here - http://www.slipstick.com/developer/code-samples/set-flag-follow-up-using-vba/ - you can use an if statement to filter some messages out, but it's going to apply to all mail if you automate it. (I believe it asks each time right now - that can be removed.)
