Hi,

Probably a constant pain to all is trying to get effective email rules to work with transactional type of emails. And for those you might be thinking, transactional email, there the ones where an organisation is using that type of email system where the sender address constantly changes. I have had some success creating working rules with some transactional emails but have an issue with emails being created with the Mandrill form. Any hints??

if the @domain part never changes, rules should work, but a run a script rule that looks for a matching chunk would probably be better. (Or an item add macro that watches the inbox.) This is an example - Move messages CC'd to an address


something like this should work in the macro -
If instr(objMail.SenderEmailAddress, "part of address") Then
' do whatever
End If
 
Also, the rule for specific words in the senders address, should work as long there is a word that is repeased in every address and you don't get other mail that contains the same words. specific words in the header should also work for either the address or display name -

the macro version for a display name would be
If InStr(objMail.SenderName, "display name") Then
