mark emails with colour manually (like in thunderbird)

Hi,
I would like to move from thunderbird to outlook, however I'm missing one thing that I'm using frequently.

When you select one or multiple emails in thunderbird, then press specific number on keyboard, email would mark with colour.
1 = red
2 = orange
3 = green
4 = blue
5 = purple
0 = reset/remove all
and it is possible to add more/change those

mark emails with colour manually (like in thunderbird)
is there similar option in outlook as well?

Haven't used Thunderbird for ages. However, in Outlook you can set the Categories very easily by choosing Control + Function key shortcuts. There are 25 different colours available but they will only show as small coloured rectangles on the emails. I don't think there is a way to colour the entire email, but who knows. Of course, you can change the text colour using Views and Conditional Formatting (perhaps in conjunction with the Categories if you wish?).

If you don't like the Control + Function Key arrangement, you can create other key combinations or QAT buttons (as I do) by using appropriate macros using SendKeys. See Macro to mark email with a Category.
