I set up the Office 365 Home subscription in order to have a decent way to keep all of my devices in sync. When I set it up the system allowed me to connect my email address and account at pobox.com that I have used since 1997 as my only alias. That email address became my login address and my problem was solved. I was extremely happy that I would not have to change my email address or have one imap account in my Outlook profile for email and the outlook.com account for contacts and calendar. I was even able to continue to set up outlook.com to use my pobox smtp server to send mail (which automatically whitelists the email address I am sending to on for my spam filter). I was a happy camper and willing to PAY $99 a year in addition to the $50 a year I pay pobox.com.
However, when Microsoft transitioned my outlook.com to the Outlook Mail last week, I lost the ability to sync Outlook 2016 to the account using that email address. I can login via the web. But I cannot sync mail, calendar or contacts. My Outlook Android does not sync either. It does not give an error message. It just says on the bottom "This folder last updated on [a recent time] [triangle with !] Trying to connect ....."
Any ideas about being able to setup a connection to the new Outlook.com
