Hi,

Is it possible to create the following custom formula for an Outlook column.

I have a column called "Actioned By" on a public mailbox that allows in-cell editing that everyone currently types in their name manually on each email. Is it possible to have a formula that if you type in a letter, it populates the rest of the users name?

For instance, if someone types J, it populates "Jermain" in the column cell based on the formula or if they type R it populates "Rosa" and so forth.

In the view, no. In a custom form, with code behind it, you could, but recent security changes make using custom forms more difficult.
Is there any other way to (semi)automate the process instead of having each user manually type in their name each time?

What about being able to create a Custom column with a popup list similar to the Importance column?

You can't use lists in the custom views. You could use a macro - Create a custom field for Outlook messages

Assuming each user will enter their own name, change this line:
strNote = InputBox("Current Value: " & strCurrent, "Edit the Notes field", strCurrent)
to
strNote = "Your name"

you'll need to change the field name too. (unless you named it My Notes too. :) )
