My Outlook 2016 is playing up !
I received mails until 5pm yesterday, opened Outlook again 3 hours later and got the window :
“Enter your user name and password for the following server.” pop.gmail.com
Correct user name and password were already filled in, of course
File > accounts settings > repair = Something went wrong
either
- Outlook couldn’t update your password
- We couldn’t log on the incoming (POP) server
smtp.gmail.com is blocked the same way
My mail shield (avast) is turned off
I tried creating a new profile, following your “how to”, the auto account setup failed, I did it manually and the test failed
I created my mails accounts on “Mail”, the app provided with Win10 and all works fine there
I got my mails and turned off “mail” on the accounts profiles so as not to disturb Outlook
Please, any advice on how I could get Outlook to work again ?
