Weeding out duplicate Outlook contacts after failed sync with iTunes

Ok Ok... I know I'm being stubborn old man, and will continue to get in trouble attempting to depend on tools that are at end-of-life...
But I was just trying to get one last "sync" in between Classic Outlook 2024 and my iPhone 17 to catch things up before I move to a new sync. solution

The contacts did sync, but there an internal field-mapping/sync. screw-up where in about 1800 contacts out of 6500 total were duplicated in an odd way:

about 1800 Contacts that just have the field "company name" populated with no data in the "full name" field.
got duplicated with the "full name" field populated with the data in the "company name" field,
and SOME but NOT ALL of the other data from the original record was copied over into the duplicate.

All the bad records have:
1) data in "full name" field equal to the (original) "company name"
2) a modified date of yesterday (the day from hell): 09/08/26

I created a view that sorts by modified date and then groups by company name.
this shows all the doubled records but would require lots of clicking and deleting to clear out 1800 duplicates..........

IS THERE A BETTER WAY? 🥲

Do all have that date or just the duplicates?

Did you try grouping by modified date then full name? Or group by full name, sort by modified.

On 9/8 something like 75 or so "normal" records were updated/sync-ed
and in addition I got all of the 1800 duplicates.

It could just be the way my brain works (or doesn't work :-/ )
but the indent/nesting of grouped records kinda drives me crazy.....

Is there a way to filter records to only show records with <first name> = <company>
then sort by modified date?

I'd still have to manually select all records modified on 9/8/26 and delete from each "pair"

No...
That's not gonna work ...
I need to see the record with the doubled name+company,
AND the "good duplicate" that has a blank <first name> field........ :-/
