Accidentally deleted my contacts

Help! I accidentally deleted my contacts. I thought I was deleting an empty contact folder,but I was not. Is there any way to reverse this? I have an Iphone with all of my contacts..is there a way to get the contacts from the phone to my outlook. Please understand that I am not very computer literate. Thank you for any help
 
if they are not in deleted items (they should be unless you emptied it already), can you make a copy of the contacts on the iphone before syncing? Otherwise you risk losing them when you sync.
