Accidentally Deleted exchange server email account in Outlook 2007

When I deleted a Microsoft exchange server email account I did not know that all of my folders, contacts, etc. would be deleted? Is there anyway to recover these folders. I spoke with the Yogi team and they tried looking in the pst file but this was empty. They also tried a point in time recovery but this did not work. I'm hoping that some guru will have an answer on this. I had given up on this but I spoke with a friend and they said there might be some software that could read the hard drive?? HELP!!

How long ago did you delete it? If system restore doesn't restore the account, you'll need recovery software to get the contents of the offline store. There are instructions for this scenario at Slipstick.com - i'll look it up when I get to a computer.

if by chance you have a backup of the Exchange database (EDB and Logs) you can use a third party tool like DigiScope http://www.lucid8.com/product/digiscope.asp to open the historic version of the database, browse, search, export or recover the contents

Is digiscope for end users who deleted the account from Outlook on their laptop after leaving employment or for administrators who need to recover a mailbox they deleted from the Exchange console? We get both types of requests, although most come from end users who didn't realize they had everything delivered to the exchange account message store until after they deleted the account from outlook.

Good morning Diane, DigiScope is really an Administrator tool since it can access ALL mailboxes in an OFFLINE copy of the Exchange Database OR All mailboxes the logged in user has rights to for within a production Exchange Server.

Also for end users that delete their account at the Outlook level they can easily reestablish the account by simply reconnecting to the Exchange server.

Only if they still have access to the Exchange server... which most former employees don't have.

Ahh yes I suppose thats true, then again perhaps former employees should not have access to email that was in their ex-employers Exchange Server eh? Hope I dont open a hornets nest on that comment

In my experience its not the former employers mail they want - but their own. Without realizing it, they delivered pop3 to the offline store. When they deleted the exchange account, they lost their stuff.

I know this is an old thread, but I just did the exact same thing about half an hour ago. I had an email account I created on Office 365 as well as a pop/smtp account both going to my main inbox folder. I removed the exchange account and it deleted the inbox and all the subfolders. Now there is only the inbox under personal folders. Can anyone help me please, please, please?

The easiest way to get it back is to use system restore to roll back till before you removed it.
