Outdated auto-fill choices in various fields

Hello ~ I have culled old/incorrect/etc. e-mail addresses from my Contacts list however when I use the auto-fill/suggest function I continue to have them show up as choices to pick from. This also happens when I'm choosing my own e-mail address. Is there a way to get rid of them from both areas, meaning as in any and all of the "to/cc" fields, as well as the "from" field when having to choose from my old e-mail addresses? Many thanks, PT
