Editing Calendar Categories

I'm running Outlook 2010 (on a Win7 Pro (32 bit) platform) with my Calendar items stored on my Live ID Hotmail Calendar webspace.

When I edit an Event and remove a category from the Event and then save it - the removed category is originally gone, but then reappears.

I have gone onto the Hotmail Live Calendar, opened the same Event - but cannot find a way to edit categories while working on the calendar web server.

Any suggestions?

Hotmail online does not support categories. The categories will sync to Outlook but it's not uncommon for them to either be removed or to stick like glue as in your case. I would try removing the categories then immediately doing a sync.

Tried as you suggested - removing the categories, saving the Event and then quickly doing a sync.

The category was gone for awhile, then returned.

It's strange that they don't support sync of Categories (for Contacts, or Events) and Contact Photos from PC based Outlook-to-Live-to-Phone and visa-versa.

Maybe coming in an update of Connector / Live???

One thing I did notice is that the Live version of the Event had only one Category.

The Outlook version has two.

When I removed both (saved and immediately sync) - both returned, not just the one listed in Live. Could this mean that the problem with Outlook and not Live?

i think the problem is a combination of outloko and live.

As for the question about future versions - i don;t believe the connector will be updated however future versions of outlook might support the live features better.
