Outlook rule moves e-mail to a deleted folder

I have a user that has written various rules to move e-mail from the inbox to specific folders depending on the sender.


One rule moves the e-mail to a folder, but that folder has been deleted.


Looking through the exchange delivery reports, the e-mail has been moved to the now deleted folder.


Where has the e-mail gone?

Knowing Outlook, it's probably going into a black hole - Outlook used to do the same when a data file hit 2 GB - it would happily download mail then drop the mail when it couldn't put it in the oversized pst, all while deleting it from the server. :(




Is the folder in the deleted items folder? In deleted items recovery?
