Hi,

I work in an organization in which users do not have access to the internet from their computers. We have Exhange 2010 servers and Outlook 2010 on desktops.

I am looking for a solution that will replace the embeded links to HTML to image in Outlook. Today the users get only placeholders with the red X in their messages.

Thanks

Michael

That is a tough one to do without actually editing the messages. Are you using a proxy server to block internet access? You might be able to redirect everything to a placeholder... or configure the server to let outlook through. (Except smart users will figure out how to "browse" in Outlook, so its probably not a good idea.)

Are you blocking external content so the red x says click here to download? Definitely do that so outlook is faster.

Diane,

Thanks for the quick response.

The users have no access to internet. Not even through proxy.

The solution must be somwhere in the exchange server (which can be opened to get content from the internet) or between the mail relay and the exchange server.

Re: converting links to images

outlook uses the internet connection settings to get external data, not the mail server. To the best of my knowledge, Exchange can't be configured to fetch and embed external data.
